- No camping, recreation, or other activities within the closure are permitted.
- Trail closures include Donkey Town Trail (previously known as Jackass) and El Burro Trail (previously known as A1).
Big Jack WUI Fuels Targeted Grazing
Updated: 8/21/24
- Be aware of sheep and goats conducting targeted grazing near the Sawtooth Trailhead area along the 06 Fire Road south of Truckee starting August 20 and ongoing through mid-September.
- Please be aware that the animals are enclosed by electric fencing and there are guardian dogs present to protect the livestock. Please leash your dogs to avoid any negative interactions with guardian dogs or livestock.
Ladybug Forest Health and Fuels Reduction Project

- Area Closure effective June 7, 2024, through January 31, 2025 for public safety. Closure Notice. Closure Map.
- No camping, recreation, or other activities within the closure will be permitted.
- Forest Service Road 72 will remain open for public use. All other roads and trails within the project area are closed. Please be cautious of log trucks and heavy equipment on FS Road 72.
- Stampede Dam Road and Dog Valley Road remain open. Please be cautious of log trucks.
